Savory Steak Salad

I used your feedback from my Instagram stories to pick these ingredients... and you have great taste!! I added steak as my lean so I couldn’t have any additional fats. I went with balsamic vinegar as a dressing so it would only count as a condiment!

1 Serving:

Ingredients:

7 oz lean steak, 5 oz once cooked (1 lean)

1 cup romaine lettuce (1 green)

1 cup spinach (1 green)

1/2 cup cucumber (1 green)

1 celery stalk (1/3 snack)

1 tbsp reduced fat feta (1/2 condiment)

1/2 tbsp minced red onion (1/2 condiment)

1/8 tsp kosher salt (1/2 condiment)

1/4 tsp pepper (1/2 condiment)

1 tsp balsamic vine (1 condiment)

Directions:

  1. Take your steak out of the fridge and sprinkle both flat sides with salt and pepper. Let sit at room temperate for an hour.

  2. Heat a cast iron pan on high. Hold steak fat side down on the pan for a minute or two - until crispy. Then lay one of the flat sides down on the skillet. Flip after about 5 minutes - all depends on thinkness of steak and how you want it cooked. Let it go for a couple more minutes, take it off the pan and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  3. Assemble salad with romaine, spinach, cucumber, celery, onion, and feta.

  4. Slice steak and add it to the salad.

  5. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and enjoy!
